Ang "Puso"

This artesian well had been very important part of my life. Having no running water in my home, I had to fetch drinking water from this well in Maon. The other one was another five minutes farther in the place called Philwood. I am not sure whether the well is still in service now. But this one in the photo shows what it all remains now.

Just food for thought

In a week from now, I will be back in the Philippines, spending a day or two in Manila and will fly straight to Butuan. Yes, I'm excited to see again my birthplace. Something came up into my mind just minutes ago - although this thing always come into mind from time to time. Usually, success in this world is measured on how much money we have, the education we have attained, assets we have accumulated, etc. Of course these are all relative. A pauper is happy to have collected a few pesos. But a person who maybe a millionaire already wants more millions. The idea of getting more is always in his/her agenda. The bottom line is that our desire to enjoy is limitless. Our desires are just like fire. The more fuel you put into it, the more it burns and needing more fuel. Living in the west may have some benefits but again, the truth is, there is not much difference from living in a developing country. One ancient scripture states, "From the highest planet in this universe down to the lowest, all are places of miseries where repeated birth and death take place." This is all for now.

See you soon!

In two weeks time I will be in Butuan again. I hope the weather will allow me to be able to roam around the city without getting worried of my camera getting wet. I hope I could get hundreds of pictures that would be enough to post here until my next visit. I plan to post one or two of these new pictures and give stories to each one.

This is a picture of Montilla Blvd. I think the building on the right is the old Crown Theatre. I am not sure what it is now. I wasn't able to go closer to the building.

Sa likod ng simbahan

I had a few fun memories of the church in Butuan. Its close proximity to the park makes its surroundings an easy rendezvous for young lovebirds...
