Barangay Urduja

It appeared to me that the center of Butuan is a part of Barangay Urduja.

Butuan Streets - Another busy one

Another busy street of Butuan. People doing their shopping. Tricycles, motorcyles, jeepneys and cars passing by.

More food

This looks like "tiil" sa manok - adidas (first tray). I saw this food stall near the Agusan National High School.

Mani

One of our favorite snack food. These are all peanuts prepared in different ways.

Pan de sal

Our favorite bread. I'm not so sure why we have become used to eating this bread. It is so expensive now and for me eating camote, saging or balanghoy is much more filling. I mean, you can feel "busog" eating our native food.

Risky Ride?

Whatever job we do there is always some danger. These men must be very confident that these logs won't fall on their heads.

Another Restaurant

This one is located at the intersection of Curato and Aquino streets.

Restaurants

There are many restaurants in Butuan now. Those big food chains found in Manila are now in Butuan too.

Intersection of Curato and Aquino Streets

These intersection is just near the park. You can see the shops facing the park including the arcade.

A food stall at the Park

A common sight around the park. This stall is facing the arcade. Most vendors position themselves at the front of the church.

Front of Rizal Park

A shopping arcade just in front of the park. This place was used to be a fruit market when I left Butuan in the late 70s.

Butuan Museum

Here are some photos of the Butuan Museum I took over a month ago. No doubt, it needs a facelift.

Butuan streets

This is a busy street especially on school days. This one is just at the front of the Butuan Central Elementary School. It used to be a two way street, now, due to increased traffic, the street has been made one way.

This is Curato St, formerly Juan Luna St.

More of the Park

This is a part of the park where I used to sit after school.

The Kiosk - Closer View

This is the same shed as seen from the corner of Curato and Aquino Sts. It is used as a souvenir shop and office as the sign indicates.

The Park

A little has changed to the park since I left the city in the late 70s. This small shed or kiosk seems a new feature.
