I tried crossing roads in Butuan using the pedestrian crossings. These are on crossings where no traffic lights are in place. I was surprised to see that actually it is not "respected" by drivers. Drivers would never stop to give way to pedestrians. The picture below is an example. Here the pedestrian is giving way to a tricycle.
Leaving Butuan in 1978 and returning first time in 2006, the feeling of "being home" again is now in my heart. Meeting old acquaintances, classmates and visiting those places I frequented when I was a child, bring both sweet and bitter memories of my childhood and teenage years. This blog will contain mostly photos of my visits.
